    HENRY ROGERS WINTHROP - EX LIBRIS - 1898 - lion in crest above
    'spes vincit  thronu(v)m' ("Hope conquers all")- Winthrop can be found with a little google
    effort - We figure he was born 1876 - American and was a military man despite a classical looking scholar in his bookplate.
    We found no engraver's (artist's) name on this ex-l. it's got so much work on it
    that it reminds us of French or Spencely or another from that "golden age".
    There's an outer edge - all in Latin.
    That rabbit, in the lower right, is tied to the 'hope conquers all' motto.
    He's hopping over an obstacle of some sort...
