    Description

    Ex libris for
    LEWIS WEBSTER WICKES
    - by JAMES ELWOOD
    WEBB
    - SIGNED
at lower right, Webb, 1884-1940 was born in Hammorton, PA. moved to Calif in 1920's. Wickes' b/p has a lot going on - We're going to call it a mining camp - probably in the southwest - note cactus,  the dog,the gondolas on the tramway and the camp
in the background, with mining tools, hammers at the sides of Wickes' name.
Wickes, or Webb, isn't done yet - an heraldic shield at upper left.
We think Wickes is likely English - the heraldry shield and a google search will
yield some hints to his nationality. He worked in mining at a lot of places
    Nice b/p. Maybe 1930?
