Book Launch for “How We Fly” by Sara Levine

A lovely nonfiction picture book about how flight works, expressed in simple, poetic terms accessible to the very youngest readers

Sara Levine has written over ten books for young children.  Some of our favorites include Sensitive, A Visit With the Birds, and The Animals Would Not Sleep.  Sara Levine’s books have received multiple awards, among them: Utah Beehive Book Award, Bank Street College Best Children’s Book of the Year, Cook Prize honor book for best STEM picture book, AAAS/Subaru SB&F Prize for Excellence in Science Books, Monarch Award Master List, Junior Library Guild selection, Animal Behavior Society Children’s Book Award, and Mathical Book Prize.

Sara holds a doctorate in veterinary medicine (DVM) from Tufts University, a master of fine arts degree (MFA) in creative nonfiction writing from Lesley University and a bachelor of arts degree (BA) in English from Haverford College.  She is a native New Englander and currently lives in Stony Creek, Connecticut.

How We Fly is illustrated by Diana Mayo.  Diana has more than 20 children’s books to her credit. She earned a degree in graphic design and illustration from Kingston University.
